Procedures
Cutting-edge, minimally invasive, evidence-based care.
Dr. Jiang's surgical practice centers on minimally invasive robotic techniques, complemented by endoscopic stone treatment and office-based enlarged prostate procedures.

Robotic & Cancer Surgery
-
Advanced robotic surgery — da Vinci multi-port & single-port platforms
Minimally invasive surgery performed with robotic-assisted instruments controlled by the surgeon from a console. The system provides a magnified, three-dimensional view and a greater range of motion than the human wrist, allowing for smaller incisions, less blood loss, and a faster recovery than traditional open surgery.
-
Robotic prostatectomy
Robotic-assisted removal of the prostate gland, most often performed to treat prostate cancer. When the cancer's location allows, a nerve-sparing technique is used to carefully preserve the nerve bundles that control erectile function and continence.
-
Robotic nephrectomy
Robotic-assisted removal of a kidney, typically performed for kidney cancer or a kidney that is no longer functioning. The robotic approach allows for precise dissection around the kidney's blood vessels through a few small incisions.
-
Robotic partial nephrectomy
Robotic-assisted removal of a kidney tumor while preserving the healthy portion of the kidney — a nephron-sparing approach that maintains as much normal kidney function as possible, often preferred over full kidney removal for smaller or well-positioned tumors.
-
Robotic cystectomy
Robotic-assisted removal of the bladder, typically performed to treat bladder cancer that has grown into the bladder muscle. Often paired with reconstruction of a new pathway for urine to leave the body.
-
Robotic urinary tract reconstruction
Robotic-assisted repair or reconstruction of the ureters, bladder, or urinary tract to restore normal drainage and function — commonly used for blockages, strictures, or complications from prior surgery.
-
Complex cancer surgery
Advanced surgical treatment for urologic cancers that require specialized oncologic and reconstructive technique, including cases involving multiple organs, locally advanced disease, or prior treatment.
Stone & Endoscopic Procedures
-
Ureteroscopy
A thin, flexible scope is passed through the urinary tract — with no incisions — to directly visualize, diagnose, and treat stones or other conditions in the ureter or kidney.
-
Laser lithotripsy
Laser energy delivered through a ureteroscope to break kidney or ureteral stones into small fragments that can be removed or pass on their own.
-
Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL)
Focused sound waves delivered from outside the body target kidney stones and fracture them into smaller fragments that can pass naturally, without any incision.
-
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)
A small, pencil-width incision in the back provides direct access to remove larger or more complex kidney stones in a single procedure.
-
Cystoscopy
A thin scope is used in the office or operating room to examine the inside of the bladder and urethra, evaluating for tumors, strictures, or other abnormalities.
-
TURBT
Transurethral resection of bladder tumor — bladder tumors are removed through a scope passed through the urethra, without any external incision, and the tissue is sent for pathology.
Enlarged Prostate & Office-Based Procedures
-
TURP
Transurethral resection of the prostate — a long-standing surgical treatment for an enlarged prostate that removes excess prostate tissue through the urethra to relieve blockage, without any incision.
-
Aquablation
A robotically assisted, image-guided water-jet procedure that removes excess prostate tissue causing urinary blockage, using real-time ultrasound guidance for precision.
-
UroLift
A minimally invasive implant procedure that lifts and holds enlarged prostate tissue away from the urethra to relieve blockage, without cutting or removing any tissue.
-
Rezum
A water-vapor (steam) therapy that shrinks excess prostate tissue causing urinary symptoms, delivered in a single short office-based session.
-
Vasectomy
A minor, in-office procedure that provides permanent contraception by blocking the tubes that carry sperm, typically performed under local anesthesia.
-
Scrotal surgery
Surgery to correct swelling of the scrotum — such as a hydrocele or varicocele — or to remove scrotal masses or lesions.
-
Prostate biopsy
A small tissue sample is taken from the prostate, usually guided by ultrasound or MRI, to check for prostate cancer — often recommended after an abnormal PSA level or exam finding.
-
Ultrasound
An office-based imaging exam that uses sound waves to evaluate the kidneys, bladder, prostate, or scrotum without radiation, often used to guide biopsies or evaluate an abnormal finding.
