Urology & Robotic Surgery — Orange County

Daniel Jiang, MD

Patient-centered, cutting-edge urologic care.

Dr. Daniel Jiang is a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist and robotic surgeon seeing patients at Orange County Urology Associates. He operates and consults at hospitals across Orange County, California, with clinic locations in Irvine and Orange. From complex urologic cancers treated with advanced robotic surgery to kidney stones, enlarged prostate (BPH), and the full spectrum of general urology, Dr. Jiang delivers expert care tailored to each patient.

da Vinci Xi — Multi-Port

Intuitive Surgical's multi-port robotic platform, used for complex reconstructive and oncologic procedures such as prostatectomy, nephrectomy, and cystectomy.

da Vinci SP — Single-Port

A single-port robotic platform that delivers all instruments through one small incision, used for procedures such as partial nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and urinary tract reconstruction.

Advanced Endoscopic Surgery

Scope-based procedures — including ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and cystoscopy — that diagnose and treat stones, tumors, and other conditions without any external incision.

General Urology

Comprehensive men's health care, including erectile dysfunction, vasectomy, UTIs, testosterone replacement, voiding dysfunction, kidney stones, and other everyday urologic concerns.

Focus

State-of-the-art robotic surgical techniques.

Dr. Jiang pairs attentive, personalized care with the latest in minimally invasive robotic technology. Operating on both the da Vinci multi-port and single-port platforms allows for smaller incisions, finer instrument control, and a faster return to normal activity than traditional open surgery — with the same individualized attention at every step.

Multi-Port Robot

Used for complex oncologic and reconstructive cases, including prostatectomy, nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, cystectomy, tumor removal, lymph node dissection, and urinary tract reconstruction.

da Vinci SP

Single-Port Robot

A single-port platform that delivers all robotic instruments through one small incision for minimally invasive surgery, used for procedures such as partial nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and urinary tract reconstruction.

Fellowship-Trained

Urologic Oncology & Robotics

Trained at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, with a practice focused on complex cancer surgery and advanced robotic technique.

Specialized Techniques

Precision approaches for specific conditions.

A closer look at a few of the techniques Dr. Jiang uses to tailor treatment to the individual patient.

Kidney Cancer

Nephron-Sparing Surgery

For eligible kidney tumors, Dr. Jiang performs a robotic partial nephrectomy that removes only the tumor while preserving the healthy portion of the kidney — helping maintain long-term kidney function rather than removing the entire organ.

Prostate Cancer

Nerve-Sparing Surgery

During robotic prostatectomy, Dr. Jiang uses a nerve-sparing technique when oncologically appropriate, carefully preserving the nerve bundles that control erectile function and continence.

Enlarged Prostate

Aquablation

A robotically assisted, image-guided water-jet procedure that removes excess prostate tissue causing urinary blockage, using real-time ultrasound guidance for precision.

Very Enlarged Prostate

STEP

Single-port transvesical enucleation of the prostate — an emerging, minimally invasive technique for very large prostates causing urinary blockage, performed through the bladder using the single-port robotic platform.
